Launceston at 7.30 pm, Launceston Choral Society will be performing Parts 1 and 2 of Handel’s great oratorio “Messiah” in full. It will therefore contain favourite arias such as “Ev’ry valley shall be exalted”, “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion” as well as choruses “For unto us a boy is born” and “Glory to God” ending with the unrivalled “Hallelujah”.

The choir will be joined in this much loved work by regular soloists Dawn Felton (soprano), Gordon Pike (tenor) and Ian Hardy (bass) and organist David Crocker with Jonathan Mann conducting. The alto solos will be sung by newcomer to Launceston, Evie Hidderley.

The retiring collection will be in aid of the Royal British Legion Poppy Fund
